Departures of Santa Rosa (Samoma) County Airport (STS)

The Sonoma Airport has one terminal both for departures and arrivals.

The Departure flight is served by only four airlines: Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Sun Country Airlines.

Alaska Airlines advises its passengers to arrive 90-120 minutes in advance and complete check-in and security screening. Once the security control is passed the airport signs will lead passengers to the Gate 2 for boarding. The Check-in Counters for the flights operated by the airline open 90 minutes and close 40 minutes prior the departure. Boarding Gates close 12 minutes before the trip. At the Sonoma Airport, ramp stairs are used while boarding on the plane.

American Airlines advises its passengers to arrive 90 minutes in advance if the flight is provided on the territory of the US and 120 minutes in advance if the plane will be provided outside of the US. Next, the passengers need to complete check-in and security screening. Once the security control is passed the airport signs will lead passengers to the Gate 2 for boarding. The Check-in Counters for the flights operated by the airline open 120 minutes and close 30 minutes prior the departure. Boarding Gates close 15 minutes before the trip.

United Airlines advises its passengers to arrive 30 minutes in advance for the travelers without checked baggage and at least 45 minutes in advance for the passengers with the checked luggage. Next, the passengers need to complete check-in and security screening. Once the security control is passed the airport signs will lead passengers to the Gate 2 for boarding. The Check-in Counters for the flights operated by the airline open 120 minutes and close 45 minutes prior the departure. Boarding Gates close 30 minutes before the trip.

Sun Country Airlines advises its passengers to arrive 30 minutes in advance for domestic flights and at least 45 minutes in advance for international flights. Next, the passengers need to complete check-in and security screening. Once the security control is passed the airport signs will lead passengers to the Gate 2 for boarding. The Check-in Counters for the flights operated by the airline open 120 minutes and close 45 minutes prior the departure. Boarding Gates close 20 minutes before the trip.

While going through the Security Control, passengers shall provide real ID, passport, or other TSA approved documents to board a domestic flight. Valid Driver’s License might be used while boarding as well. Passengers are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of aerosols, liquids, creams, and gels in the carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. There are also limits for travel-sized containers carrying those items - they should not exceed the size of 100 milliliters per item.

The tickets might be obtained via the onsite ticket counters at STS.

The departures are provided to the cities within the United States mainly and include flights from Sonoma to  San Francisco operated by United Airlines, from Sonoma to Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Portland, Seattle, and San Diego operated by Alaska Airlines, from Sonoma to Phoenix operated by American Airlines, and seasonal flights from Sonoma to Minneapolis and Las Vegas run by Sun Country Airlines.
